This is long, so hold on lol Although you didn’t win, you showed what the sport of MMA needs more of: Gutsy, Tough, Tenacious Warrior female athletes who will fight anytime, anywhere and anyone. We have talked a few times over the years & iv always felt for you bc you have wanted nothing more than to compete in the sport you love.
You did the best you could with what you were given and you went out on a limb and took a big chance. Anything can happen in MMA and there is always the possibility of either side winning. You stepped up to the plate, and even though you didn’t win, you have nothing to be ashamed of.
IMO I don’t like seeing true 135ers having to come up in weight because they have NO other options. Its not right & its not always fair, but I commend you on being one of the few, true, competitive real athletes in womens MMA who always takes on any challenge or challenger.
I hope that SF sees the sacrifice that you and a few others have made for them, and that this shows your dedication to MMA. The 145 is such a tricky division bc bigger girls have to cut & smaller girls have to bulk up. There aren’t too many true 145ers, even lol
I wanna see more of the women who deserve to be signed to a big promotion like Roxy, Meisha, Tanya, Lana & other great Japanese MMAers. Its hard to know there are so many women who deserve to fight that are sitting on the sidelines waiting and waiting and waiting.

I saw both fighter interviews on Showtime between Carano and Cyborg and they both looked great, they are ready to fight tonight, you can tell with the look in their eyes wow!
Watching all the matches tonight they were all good we are not just waiting for the big main event to come up.
Oh BTW Big John McCarthy is referring tonight; I wonder who is going to do the big main event?

Joining forces with Strikeforce, which announced a three-fight deal with the 32-year-old Emelianenko and his promotional group M-1 Global on Monday, the Russian heavyweight champion may finally benefit from the kind of visibility in America that’s been absent during a distinguished nine-year career fought primarily on non-UFC pay-per-views.

NEW YORK (August 3, 2009) – After a week of intense negotiations and speculation, the hottest topic of discussion in the professional fight world has come to a head as the world’s number one heavyweight and most sought after mixed martial arts (MMA) champion Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko has signed a historic, multi-fight agreement that will see him headline mega-events co-promoted by world championship promotions STRIKEFORCE and M-1 Global.
Emelianenko, known globally as Fedor, will make his premium television debut this Fall when his first fight under the new agreement airs live on SHOWTIME®. Up until now, Emelianenko’s live fights have aired exclusively on pay-per-view in the United States.
"I am looking forward to going back to work and fighting at the highest level," said the 33-year-old Emelianenko. During his nine year professional fight career, which included a four and a half year stay with the world’s former top MMA promotion, the now defunct PRIDE Fighting Championship, the Russian native has faced and defeated all comers.

MITSUHIRO ISHIDA TO REPLACE JOSH THOMSON AND WILL FIGHT GILBERT MELENDEZ FOR THE STRIKEFORCE INTERIM LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AT STRIKEFORCE: CARANO VS. CYBORG!
SAN JOSE, Calif. – It looks like Gilbert "El Nino" Melendez will get his rematch with Japanese wrestling expert Mitsuhiro Ishida a little sooner than he expected.
Strikeforce announced on Thursday that Ishida will replace the injured Josh "The Punk" Thomson, owner of the Strikeforce lightweight belt who was unable to get medical clearance for an injured leg. Ishida and Melendez will battle for Melendez’ interim lightweight title on the Saturday, Aug. 15, "Carano vs. Cyborg" show at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
San Francisco’s Melendez (15-2) lost a unanimous decision to Ishida (18-5-1) in Saitama, Japan, on Dec. 31, 2007, for the first loss of his career.

BABALU AND MOUSASI TO FIGHT FOR THE STRIKEFORCE LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE AT STRIKEFORCE: CARANO VS. CYBORG!
The highly-anticipated showdown between Renato "Babalu" Sobral (35-8) and Gegard Mousasi (25-2-1), which was suddenly cancelled by its original promoter last week, has been revitalized and will be contested with Sobral’s STRIKEFORCE World Light Heavyweight (205 pounds) Championship on the line at San Jose, California’s HP Pavilion on Saturday, August 15.
The title bout will be featured during the SHOWTIME televised portion of the STRIKEFORCE: "Carano vs. Cyborg" mixed martial arts (MMA) mega-card.
"I am very happy that Strikeforce has resurrected this fight and that I will have the opportunity to become Strikeforce world champion," said Mousasi, who is in the midst of a monstrous, 12 fight win streak. The 23-year-old was crowned the first Dream Middleweight Champion and Middleweight Grand Prix Tournament Champion last year in Japan.
