Good afternoon all,
After reading the news item about the back down by Angelica Chavez I wonder about the professionalism of people in this sport. Angelicas form in backing out of fights she has signed for without a valid reason tends it indicate a fighter with the heart of a chicken. If there are valid reasons for backing out I will withdraw that statement.
If I were the promoter concerned I would:
1. Black list Chavez from all my promotions,
2. Sue her and her people for damages,
3. Insure that any money’s I had paid to her were recovered
4. Work flat out to arrange a replacement fighter, and
5. Ensure Chavez’s lack of professionalism was well published throughout the WMMA community.
Some may think I’m a hard bastard, but if you want this sport to be respected you need the fighters to be professional. I believe the majority are.

I have to say this person is right, this fighter should not be allowed to fight on any promotion anymore! period no questions asked.

Strikeforce executive Mike Afromowitz announced today that the Strikeforce: Emelianenko vs. Rogers is set for November 7th at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The Sears Center is an 11,000-seat arena and has been host to an IFL show in the past. Here is the updated lineup for Strikeforce’s debut in Illinois. The event will air live on CBS:
* Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers
* Jason "Mayhem" Miller vs. Jake Shields (for vacant Strikeforce middleweight title)
* Gegard Mousasi vs. TBA
* Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos vs. TBA

I saw both fighter interviews on Showtime between Carano and Cyborg and they both looked great, they are ready to fight tonight, you can tell with the look in their eyes wow!
Watching all the matches tonight they were all good we are not just waiting for the big main event to come up.
Oh BTW Big John McCarthy is referring tonight; I wonder who is going to do the big main event?

Jacare, one of the most decorated grapplers in the sport today, will make his debut sometime in the fall against an unnamed opponent, according to the promotion.
